MSc. PT, BSc. Kin, MCPA
I completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta, and then moved to Australia to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland. After finishing my Masters, I worked in Brisbane, Australia before returning home to practice in Edmonton. The Aussie’s are pioneers and world leaders in physio, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. My work experience, both international and local, includes both public and private sectors of physiotherapy. I was also recently certified to teach Pilates, and find that the principles of Pilates fit very well with physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
I believe patients need to actively engage in their recovery for success. The quality of your life is greatly affected by your ability to participate in and enjoy your favorite activities, so I aim to personalize your treatment towards returning to the things you love to do. I encourage my patients to learn to move their bodies well, both safely and efficiently. I have a special interest in working with artistic athletes (dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts, etc). However, I enjoy working with all populations!
As a former competitive figure skater, I have learned to appreciate how important it is to take care of your body. In my spare time I love exploring the river valley on foot or bike, spending time with friends and family, playing piano, or getting out to the mountains or the lake.
